Leafward support
Answers to common questions, and how to reach us.
Which books can Leafward open?
Leafward reads DRM-free EPUB files (EPUB 2 and EPUB 3). Books bought from stores that add DRM, such as Kindle or Apple Books, cannot be opened. Many shops and libraries of public-domain books, such as Standard Ebooks and Project Gutenberg, offer DRM-free EPUBs.
How do I add books?
Tap the menu button in your library and choose how to add books: from the Files app, from an OPDS catalogue, or from a Calibre content server. You can also share an EPUB to Leafward from another app.
Where are my books and notes stored?
On your device. Leafward has no account and no server of its own. Automatic backups go to iCloud Drive, this device or a folder you choose; you can see and change the location under Settings › Backup and restore.
How do I move my library to a new iPhone or iPad?
Make a backup under Settings › Backup and restore, then restore that backup on the new device. Backups include your books, annotations, notes, collections and settings.
What does Leafward Pro include?
An unlimited library (the free version holds up to 10 books) and the full Marvin 3 migration. Pro is a one-time purchase and works with Family Sharing.
I bought Pro but it isn’t showing.
Open the Leafward Pro screen and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy it. If it still doesn’t appear, write to us and we’ll help.
How do I move from Marvin 3?
In Marvin 3, create a backup and save it to Files. In Leafward, open Move from Marvin 3 and choose that backup. Books, bookmarks, highlights and reading positions are imported; anything whose position can’t be matched is kept, with its text and notes, in an import report you can review.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Still need help?
Write to us any time. We read every message and usually reply within two working days.
